64. from Le Petit Chaperon Noir series, by Sarah Moon
Kyoto Museum of Contemporary Art
Wandering down Shinmonzen-dori St in the Gion district of Kyoto, seeing the poster for a Sarah Moon exhibition, then finding the Museum of Contemporary Art where the exhibition was being held. Over three floors, the second floor being photographs from the Le Petit Chaperon Noir series. The blurb telling us that:
Once upon a time, out of time, there she was,
the one they called black riding hood.
This is not the photograph I took, which did not turn out well. Given that photography was forbidden in the first place, I had to be quick, but the image was behind glass which reflected everything in front of it; me, the few others in the same room, the other exhibits, the overhead spot lighting.
Later, returning to Gion, and unpinning the poster from the wall. Rolling it up and getting out of there, fast.
The poster features the photograph call The Lock's Girl [sic]. |
