23. The photograph of Benito Mussolini and his mistress, Clara Petacci, first and second from the left, hanging outside the Esso petrol station that's now a Macca's in Milan's Piazzale Loreto. They were already dead when they were hanged.

First saw this when I was really young, leafing through my Nana's red bound, five volume set of the Illustrated History of World War II, which fair did my head in.

Unfortunately the Macca's in question was closed when I was in Milan, and yes, I would have had fries with that.
