53. Salvador Dali's Premonition of Civil War.

My introduction to Dali, projected onto the wall of room 107, the Art Room, Year 9 at Blackburn High, and I remember the sensation of suddenly feeling breathless, as though I'd discovered what art was actually for. Soon enough afterwards, borrowing his autobiography, The Secret Life Of Salvador Dali, from Blackburn library, and realizing one did not have to be a decent human being to create brilliance.

Ended up writing a thesis in Third Year Art at LaTrobe Uni, being on the influence of Renaissance on Dali's art.
