84. Found Dope, By Candy Jernigan
From Evidence : The Art of Candy Jernigan, p.64-5

Archiving the city.
The nature of the artefact.
Documenting what's been found in the streets, in buildings, anywhere, noting and cross referencing by type and location, bagging it, and making it art.

I've been doing this since well before discovering Candy Jernigan, except for the art part. Taping or gluing found artefacts into those journals I keep when travelling. Could be anything, almost. Drinks coasters, bar receipts, calling cards, serviettes, maps, wine corks, the occasional postcard, leaves and flowers, gallery flyers, cuttings from newspapers, the bags the potato chips of choice came in, lolly and chocolate wrappers, fuel dockets, tickets once the ticketed journey is done.

But I'm yet to collect dust, or the evidence of drug use, or stains, or cigarette butts, or a dead rat intending to have it taxidermied, like Candy did. She was, and probably still is, the ultimate archivist.
